Cooking with love, all my life
From a kitchen job at 13 to a home for my favourite recipes. Here's how I got here.
Before anything else, I'm a husband and a dad. My wife Nic and my girls, Chilli and Indii, are my world, and some of my happiest moments are around our kitchen table, cooking and eating together.
It started at 13
I started work at 13 in my first commercial kitchen. I loved it from day one.
At 17 I began my full time career as a chef, and at 19 I became a restaurateur.
Over the years I opened a number of award-winning restaurants around Australia, and I was lucky enough to cook in some of the finest restaurants in the world.

Cooking on TV, here and in the US
Television came next. I made more than 400 episodes of the daily cooking show Fresh, plus FISH, Postcards from Home and the Lifestyle Channel's Home show.
In the US I hosted the PBS series A Moveable Feast for 8 seasons. I travelled around meeting farmers and fisher people, and cooked with some great chefs.
Back home I was co-host and judge of My Kitchen Rules for 11 seasons, and I hosted and produced 2 seasons of The Paleo Way.
Then the way I ate changed
When I changed to a healthier way of living, it changed how I felt and how I saw food. Real food became the heart of everything I do.
I started cooking and sharing paleo-style recipes, and over the years I've written around 30 cookbooks.
I made the documentary The Magic Pill, then The Magic Plant and the series AWAKEN. I hosted around 500 conversations on my Evolve Podcast, ran around 200 wellness, cooking and fasting retreats with my wife Nic, and spoke to families, schools and businesses about real food.
When it all came down
When I only shared recipes, people were happy. When I started talking about long term health, things changed.
I was removed from Facebook and Instagram, where around 2 million people followed me. My podcast was taken off Spotify.
My books and cookware came off the shelves, and 15 business partnerships ended in about 48 hours.
I don't carry bitterness about it. I took it as an opportunity, and an invitation to adapt and evolve.
I kept cooking, and kept sharing
I never stopped sharing recipes. I just do it independently now, straight to the people who want them.
In 2025 I released Healthy Food for Healthy Kids, with Children's Health Defense. In 2026 came The MAHA Cookbook.
Away from the kitchen I love my family, the ocean and surfing. I keep things simple: cook real food at home, slow down and enjoy it together.

A home for my favourite recipes
Healthy Everyday is my online kitchen. It's a home for my favourite recipes, with new ones every week, in metric and imperial.
There are meal plans, Nourish, practical guides, videos and The Table, where we cook and chat together.
Thanks for being here. I'm so glad you've pulled up a chair.
